My "first shot" at Jupiter and 3 of it's moons with a photo lens, not a telescope. Light for this photo travelled about a half a billion miles to reach my camera sensor



Orion: the 3 discinctive stars on the upper left and the Nebula in "Orion's belt" below right. It's the only cloud like formation on the photo. Also photographed with a long lens.
Being 1344 light years away, light left at A.D. 667 to be captured on Nov. 25. 2011

In Memoriam: Otto Von Habsburg, the last Crown Prince of Austria and Hungary died yesterday ( July 4th ) at the age of 98. I photographed him back in the late 80's, I quickly found and scanned these two prints:
